    Yamaha vx ho...top speed

We have a 2017 we're still breaking in (around 8 hours now). I've read tests saying this ski can do 65 mph. For those who have broken it in is that reality? I've read others who only get mid 50s so I'm curious if the claims are exaggerated.

I have 33 hrs on mine , top speed iv seen on my speedo was 62 mph , but our spedos are not gps is an old school wheel so any and i mean any air that gets under the ski will throw off your reading , download a GPS speed app on your phone ig you want a real reading

Anyone that claims 65 is smoking weed on a stock HO.

My sleedo reads 63 or 64 and I see 62 on GPS. It went about 1 mph faster with ribbon delete

Im smoking while riding the HO and it still never goes 65. I will keep trying tho.
    Gps stock 60-61
I added trim for 62-63 is all I can get ,26 hours and I weigh as much as 2 wet towels.

Have you done the ribbon delete and intake upgrades ? Jim's cut on your ride plate will gain you another 2 mph.

Been asking this question for a year. Have 16' vx Ho and barley get 60 hit 61 one time on gps. I'm suppose to get 7500 rpm's but never break 7000. Some say if it's above 90 degrees then you only get 7000 rpm's. Hog wash. Engine can do more and not getting what the say is 7500rpm's which would prob be around 65. Anyone else have answers to why we not seeing 65 mph? Suppossly gov at 65. Lighter then fx so should be faster.

should be turning at least 7500 rpm , my VXR is turning 7700 to 7800 with no tune just air intake mods and free flo exhaust. When summer hit i lost 2 mph. put still running 67 flat out with 2 bars gps, granted i have fine tuned everything on it from ride plate to trim. and took everything i could out that wasnt bolted down and some that were.

Anyone see a higher number with different prop? Also I still have a lot of cavitation after ride plate, grate, and pump seal on my vxr. Thinking a prop could help.

Sounds like time for a new prop if you already have the stuff kit.
